Assistant Bee - discord bot 🤖

Hey!

Since we started to get more attention, there are a lot of new members coming to our server. We got the faucet, which requires a BrightID verified account and some of the newcomers start sending their connection links through our public channels (not their fault, most of them just don’t know this is not allowed).

This is for sure not the intention neither of the faucet or BrightID, as we get a lot of spam and people getting flagged because of this. Also, members have to manually warn these users to stop spamming and it’s becoming an endless work.

So, I decided to automate this process and create a bot specifically for moderation on our hive! It’s called Assistant Bee. Right now, it only removes the BrightID :high_brightness: connection links from public channels and warns the user, but I’m looking forward to extending some moderation functionalities.

On the other hand, we don’t have any onboarding experience for the newcomers, so my intention to add onboarding functionalities to our Assistant Bee.

In this proposal, I’m requesting 4 HNY to create, maintain, and set continuous deployment for these bots.

Many people still have trouble bridging and buying Honey on Honeyswap. They want to know tokenomics and use cases for the Honey token among other things.

I’ve executed a proposal for 5 Honey today to write articles regarding these topics. Would be nice to see some commands added to the Greeter Bee (or Bee Guard), so that new users can be directed to these Medium articles/tutorials if they wish to learn more about 1Hive.

Great work! That should decrease the Bright ID spam

Would there be a way to add the following funcionality as well:
Remove all !verify and !me and maybe !hny help messages automagically?

These clog up most public available channels.

Hi Harry, this is indeed on my list of things to do for the bot. I have something else that’s currently a priority but this should be next. Expect it somewhere this week.

Edit:

Oops, looks like cris already did it

This feature was included yesterday, thank you for pointing out! The commands are now only allowed on the #bot-commands channel.
