Buy 5,000 sDAI worth of MARKEE tokens and become an Owner of the Markee Network

Proposal Description

This proposal requests 5,000 sDAI from the 1Hive Common Pool to buy a Markee message and acquire MARKEE tokens during the Phase 0 RevNet stage.

If passed, funding from this proposal will go to the 1Hive Council Safe to be swapped for ETH and used to buy a message at markee.xyz. Messages bought there go directly to the project’s RevNet in exchange for MARKEE tokens. The RevNet serves as the project’s treasury, receiving both investment and revenue. MARKEE tokens are redeemable for a portion of the treasury and represent ownership in the platform and its assets.

Price in Phase 0 is 62,000 MARKEE per ETH - at current market rates for sDAI and ETH, 5,000 sDAI will buy ~115,000 MARKEE.

Background

In August 2024, 1Hive funded Markee’s proof of concept development with 2,115 sDAI. That proposal delivered:

The proof of concept is live and is now ready to accept seed investment to fund the platform’s first stage of growth and operations.

What 1Hive Gets

1. MARKEE Tokens (Held in Council Safe)

  • Tokens purchased at Phase 0 pricing, before the first 2x price increase on March 21, 2026
  • All future revenue from message buyers flows into the RevNet at progressively higher prices
  • MARKEE tokens backed by real revenue with a rising price floor (see terms on RevNets)

2. Permanent Ownership of a Markee Message

  • A customizable message space on markee.xyz that 1Hive can edit anytime
  • Since messages are ordered by amount of funds added, this purchase puts 1Hive as the featured top message. 1Hive can add more funds later if other messages surpass it.
  • Visibility to all Markee visitors, and option to include on 1Hive frontends

3. Strategic Position in a Complementary Ecosystem

  • Markee’s first integration build is on Gardens (1Hive’s platform)
  • Early support positions 1Hive as a key stakeholder in the platform’s growth and signals confidence for additional investment in Markee
  • Markee’s integration partners include web3 public goods platforms well aligned with 1Hive’s mission, including Giveth, Juicebox, Bread Cooperative, and RevNets

Proposal Rationale

The Markee platform is built on RevNets, which underpin the economy and ownership structure for the platform. Put simply, RevNets distribute ownership of a treasury, creating a price floor backed by the redemption value of the token and a price ceiling that increases on a fixed schedule. Every message bought on markee.xyz and all its future partner sites brings revenue into the RevNet treasury at the current price ceiling, backing value for all MARKEE token holders, including 1Hive.

Markee will also leverage Gardens to manage the community reserve of MARKEE. This is the portion of token issuance that goes to the Cooperative for ongoing funding of the team, partners, users, and growth & operations expenses. 38% of token issuance is allocated to the Markee Cooperative on Gardens.

Beyond receiving MARKEE tokens at the current Phase 0 rate, 1Hive gets permanent control of a message that can be updated whenever it likes. 1Hive can coordinate informally on Discord to keep the message updated and take advantage of its visibility.

Markee Team

The Markee project is led by @paul - Gardens v2 founder - who has structured it as a community-first digital cooperative via RevNets.

The core team includes Gardens contributors @Gossman123 @Mati0x and @kamikazebr - as well as Juicebox/RevNets Founder Jango. These members serve as the signers of the admin Safe for the Markee RevNet. The team already has a healthy waitlist of integration partners that include Giveth and Bread Cooperative in addition to Gardens, Juicebox, and RevNets.
