Fluid Proposal - Gardens Swarm🌱

Proposal Information

This Fluid Proposal is to fund the ongoing development, growth, and maintenance of the Gardens platform.

You can support this proposal in the 1Hive Garden.

Proposal Rationale

Gardens was launched in 2021 as a tool for communities to coordinate around shared resources in a secure, decentralized, and bottom-up fashion. As of February 2023, $1.99 million is stored in the Common Pools of Gardens DAOs, serving as shared funding for these communities.

The Gardens swarm depends on this Fluid Proposal to fund work needed to keep the platform up-and-running smoothly, evolve with the rapidly changing web3 landscape, and achieve our mission which is for gardens to create as much value for the world as possible.

Nov 2022 EOM Report

Which advances did we announce last month?

The Gardens Swarm has been mostly inactive for the month of November due to lack of funding. In spite of the lack of funding, we were able to make progress in a couple of areas:

  • Marketing the launch of the Fluid Proposals Pilot for 1Hive
  • Deployment of Gardens on Goerli network (not yet completed)

This Fluid Proposal, along with our allocation of SAFE tokens as a Safe Guardian (which aren’t yet liquid), will help the Gardens Swarm make progress on its open priorities

What are we currently working on now?

  • Goerli Deployment: Finish the deployment of Gardens on Goerli network and sunset support for the deprecated Rinkeby Network.
  • Poll Proposals: following the Goerli deployment, we can then finish the launch of Poll Proposals.
  • Managing $SAFE Funds: Creating a budget strategy for our Safe tokens based on when they become transferrable and their token price once liquid.
  • Gardens next steps: Seeking input from the existing Gardens DAOs on features and support they want most, we’ll prioritize next work for the Gardens Swarm.

Dec 2022 EOM Report

Which advances did we announce last month?

  • Applied for grant from The Graph Protocol this would fund our subgraph migration to TGP
  • Progress on Goerli deployment we are very close to completing this deployment. See our progress in @kamikazebr 's EOM report

What are we currently working on now?

  • Goerli Release finishing up the Goerli deployment
  • Poll Proposals following the Goerli deployment, we can then finish the launch of Poll Proposals.
  • Cross-chain Celeste we are talking with the Connext team on feasibility of building a cross-chain Celeste using xApps.
  • Migration to The Graph Protocol We plan to work on integrating it with Celeste this month.

On December 20th and January 18th you made some payments. Could you clarify what those payments were for, and who is currently working in Gardens, please?

Also, @kamikazebr should not publish in his personal proposal work that is being paid by this proposal, or vice-versa.

  • Cross-chain Celeste - we are talking with the Connext team on feasibility of building a cross-chain Celeste using xApps.
  • Migration to The Graph Protocol - Subgraph migration is in progress already
  • Minimum viable gardens v2 - Rodrigo, Felipe and Paul are workshopping how to go about a new iteration of gardens that can create the most value for the future.

Hey Sem,

Only @kamikazebr and I have been active the last 3 pay periods: Gardens Hours - Google Sheets

Payments were for that work. In the top right of each tab in the spreadsheet there’s a link with the activity done that period. Here are the activity sheets from the last 3 sprints:

Interesting, we could standardize this information for transparency: what has been done and for how much honey, and which are the expected features when a certain amount of funding is reached. It could be included in the EOM reports but with little overkill.

For now, could you edit the first post describing the proposal with the actual responsible people of the swarm? The post should follow this template: Fluid Proposal Template - HackMD.

I dont get how split that information. Could give a example?

It’s not yet clear. I’ll try to come up with a new EOM template next month, so it makes it easier to share that information.

I’m not able to edit the original post anymore (too long since it was posted) so this post can serve as the updated proposal.
