Funding Proposal - move Contributor Rewards to 1Hive v2

Proposal Description:

This proposal is requesting 1,000 HNY to fund Superfluid streams for contributor rewards, paid from the Council Safe using this Signaling Pool in 1Hive’s v2 Garden. Streams will be manually set up and adjusted by the Council Safe until Gardens Streaming Pools are released.

Order of operations for this proposal (see the 1Hive v2 Notion for more):

  • (completed) Create a Signaling Pool in v2 for contributor rewards
  • All existing streaming proposals from the 1Hive Common Pool for individual contributors cancelled.
  • (this proposal) Fund Council Safe with HNY from Common Pool - Council Safe sets up streams to 1Hive contributors and updates biweekly using pool results
  • Create a streaming proposal in v1 to keep funding contributor rewards on v2.

Proposal Rationale:

  • Most of Honey’s inflation right now is going to contributor rewards, which hasn’t been driving any value back to the price or liquidity of Honey.
  • Having 1 Common Pool stream for all contributor rewards will make it easier for the community to throttle the % of inflation going to contributors.
  • Reducing proposals in v1 will open up governance weight for other proposals that could be better investments of Common Pool Honey.

Downsides:

  • v2 doesn’t have streaming proposals yet. Will need to manually execute streams from Council Safe until streaming pools are released in v2.

  • Pool Type = Signaling
  • Voting Weight System = Fixed
  • Conviction Growth = 7 days
  • Voting protection = allowlist → citizen’s registry
  • Collateral to Create Proposal = 5 xDAI
  • Collateral to Dispute Proposal = 5 xDAI
  • Dispute Ruling Time = 7 days
  • Default Abstain Resolution = Approved
  • Tribunal = Gardens Safe

It is much more fair and transparent for 1hive and Gardens.”

Proposal - Refill Contributor Rewards

This proposal is requesting an additional 1000 HNY to refill contributor rewards at their current settings.

Proposal Rationale

There are 4 active proposals getting streams in this Pool, for @ZER8 @Gossman123 @Mati0x and @paul

At the current streaming rates, roughly half of the 1k HNY per month cap is currently streaming. This is a significant decrease in HNY inflation going to contributors compared to our previous version of streaming proposals for individual contributors using Osmotic Funding in 1Hive. Since this was one of the stated goals of v2 Contributor Rewards, this seems to be working as intended - reducing HNY streams for contributors without cutting them off entirely.

Areas for improvement

Contributors are not currently tracking their work anywhere public. We need to set up a communications channel for tracking work, goals, and deadlines to give voters better context for streaming proposals.
