Proposal Information
Proposal description:
This proposal is requesting 500 HNY to fund rewards for builders using Gardens at the No Cap, All dApps Hackathon at ETH Denver, put on by Zuzalu.city.
If approved, 50% of funds will be redeemed for treasury assets at the current treasury redemption rate of $6.09 per HNY.
- 250 HNY - redeemed for $1,500 in treasury funds. Calculation based on:
- $396k USD value of Council Safe on Gnosis Chain
- 65,095 total supply of Honey
- $6.09 redemption price of Honey * 250 HNY (rounded down to $1.5k)
- 250 HNY directly awarded to winners
Treasury redemption funds will be awarded into funding pools built on Gardens by hackathon participants. HNY will be awarded as an additional bonus to winners to encourage participation in the 1Hive community.
Funding will be awarded to the winners as follows:
First Place
- $1,000 in direct funding to Funding Pools created on Gardens
- 150 HNY awarded to the winning team’s builders
Second Place
- $500 in direct funding to Funding Pools created on Gardens
- 50 HNY awarded to the 2nd place team’s builders
- 50 HNY will be given to participants in the hackathon to join a Gardens community where they can submit proposals for their project (1 HNY per hackathon team, up to 50 teams max).
Eligibility Criteria
- Create a Gardens community for your pop-up city / permanent crypto hub with a compelling Covenant and reasonable parameters.
- Create at least 1 Funding Pool in this community, set up with a clear description and reasonable parameters for funding distribution.
Winners will be determined through a conviction voting pool on Gardens, set up in an open Gardens community created for the event that uses Honey as the ecosystem staking token. Eligibility criteria will be enforced through proposal disputes in this Pool.
Proposal Rationale
Zuzalu.City has invited Gardens to present at the No Cap, All dApps hackathon as a tech stack partner (Zuzalu.city will be integrating Gardens in their platform this spring).
This is thanks in part to the success of the Pop-up Commons pilot experiment and the traction we’ve found recently with pop-up cities and permanent crypto hubs.
Builders at this hackathon represent some of the most promising communities in this space, including:
- 4Seas (Thailand)
- Ârc Austin (USA)
- Crecimiento (Argentina)
- Edge Esmeralda (USA)
- Frontier Tower (USA)
- Infinita (Honduras)
- Zanzalu (Zanzibar)
- Zuitzerland (Switzerland)
- Zu-Grāma (India)
These communities are all a fantastic fit for Gardens, and by sponsoring this hackathon we can Gardens-pill them on bottom-up governance using conviction voting.
By awarding Funding Pools on Gardens directly, winning projects in the hackathon are incentivized to learn governance pool setup on Gardens, which will help with the friction that’s usually involved with that part of Gardens onboarding, and make it much easier to learn how Gardens can be a super valuable allocation tool for their communities.
Expected duration or delivery date (if applicable):
Event will be on February 27 in Denver.
