Integrate xDai bridge in the Honeyswap interface

Hello friends! I have no doubt this has idea may have been put across before but here we are ( again ).

We can all agree Honeyswap is an awesome piece of work and trading on there could take off at any moment. To allow a seamless transition for users to trade on Honeyswap it would be ideal if we could simply integrate a bridge into the Honeyswap itself. Essentially it would look like this:

honeyswapbridge|690x460

It would also be cool to purchase DIA from here right from our interface too.

So all in all;

  • Head over to honeyswap org

  • Got no DIA ?
No problem! make the ETH swap to DIA right from honeyswap.org

  • Dont know how to convert your DIA to XDAI ?
Easily convert your DIA to xDAI via the interface.

I KNOW THERE WILL BE MANY TECHNICNAL PARAMETERS HERE - I am not tech savy but the point of this post is to make the hurdles more convenient.

I know this may even be out the of the teams hands itself, as it could even be something that has to be proposed to the xdaichain team themselves. I think this keeps things user friendly as it would at least bring the loopholes of using Honeyswap to the interface itself.

( Sorry if it has been mentioned before  )

Best,
HoneyB

The problem with this idea is that to move DAI to xDAI is a mainnet transaction and anything on honeyswap is a xDAI network tx. I am not sure wallets like MetaMask could deal with interfaces on the same page connecting to different networks.

Ahhh what a bummer. Maybe one day this idea could turn into a reality in the future.

Thank you for the insight!

It would be possible, but I think it’s better to separate responsibilities. It’s better to have different programs that do just one thing but do it very well, than have just one program that does everything but not very well (UNIX philosophy).

Having said that, I think xdai bridge, omnibridge, and honeyswap should be better integrated.

Yeah i agree with that sem. I wish the xdaichain guys would integrate both bridges into the same interface which is pretty much what HoneyB was suggesting.

Yes indeed. Though actually, this is exactly what the bridge does.
Just adding the bridge on the Honeyswap page (maybe hidden until a link is clicked) will already make things easier.

Perhaps for now we can link to this: https://xdai.io/

I’ve used it successfully myself, but we’d need to be 100% before we share this

It has ETH - DAI and DAI - xDAI all in one place (click exchange)

Yeah the xdai burner wallet works fine. Basically right now your 3 choices for bridging are:

You can also send right to the smart contract, you dont even need to use the interface

I think having a link to Omnibridge FAQ or FAQ post on discourse, on the honeyswap pages would be good - easy for users to find info and URLs on how to swap, and also organically drives new users to find the forums here

This step is necessary for further evolution and adoption . It comes soon or later, but these different networks, bridges…many people even don’t know they need to bridge anything, it’s not easy to understand this ecosystem. Isn’t Polkadot a system to solve this???
Anyway, in the future, all bridges and networks will be hidden under userfriendly layer, i mean.

Who does the first step?
